Aamir Scores Over Imran

Kareena Kapoor, who is teaming up with Aamir Khan and his nephew Imran Khan in two separate films respectively, was in a super tricky spot.

The first schedule of her film with Aamir, Reema Kagti's untitled project, was found to be clashing with the second schedule of her film Short Term Shaadi with Imran that is being made by her close friend Karan Johar. But Kareena simply had to find time for Aamir, as she couldn't let this film go — not after audiences hailed their chemistry in the blockbuster 3 Idiots.

TOI has learned that Kareena picked up the phone and asked Karan to be her saviour. She asked the numero one filmmaker if he could rework her dates with Imran so that she could give those dates to Aamir instead. Ever the gentleman, Karan obliged. So now Aamir's first schedule with Kareena will roll ahead of Imran's second schedule with the actress.

Bollywood's heavyweight mamu has pipped his bhanja. Bollywood sources say Karan would not have done this for any other actor. Also, he shares a special equation with Kareena. All is well. And not even Imran is sulking.

Priyanka-Shahid Break Ke Baad!

They remain one of Bollywood's biggest mysteries. Were Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor dating? Bollywood says yes, of course, but the stars themselves never accepted the situation and screamed their single status from the rooftops.

Though when the fever was reportedly at its pitch, Priyanka and Shahid sizzled in Kaminey, and the world which always loves a pair of lovers, sighed in satisfaction at this new jodi. For the media, of course, this was all grist to the mill... and from every sighting of the couple to their recent alleged break-up, it all made news. Now comes the twist in the tale.

Enter Kunal Kohli, with a script for which he has signed Shahid and now wants Priyanka. Not so long ago he was miffed with Priyanka because her hectic schedule didn't give her dates to do his film with Saif Ali Khan. But Kunal is ready to forget the past. He is meeting Priyanka to talk about his film that will bring Shahid and her back onscreen. The filmmaker will also approach three other actresses because his film has two female leads playing pivotal roles. Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone are on top of the list.

But will Priyanka agree, given that she is sick of people always talking about her equation with Shahid and ignoring her work? And that every story about her somehow brings Shahid into the picture?

There will be curiosity to see the actors working together again. Plus the movie is a love story so one can imagine the chemistry that will be on offer in case the two team up. Kunal, however, remained tight-lipped. "It is true that Shahid has been signed on. It is a love story spanning a 100 years. I cannot comment on the actresses as we haven't started casting yet," is all he said. Shahid told BT, "I have enjoyed Kunal's works in the past whether it's Hum Tum or Fanaa and I'm looking forward to this love story. Whoever he decides to be cast opposite me, I'm okay with it."

Hrishant Goswami evicted from Bigg Boss

However, not many will deny that post Dolly's exit last week, the show has gone very quiet. Her behaviour on screen was crass but her volume directly proportionate to the show TRPs: with one the other rose automatically.

But Bigg Boss loyalists may soon be in for a shock. Dolly is most likely to return to the Bigg Boss house on Saturday and this is supposed to be a big surprise for the contestants.

Of the five people nominated, Hrishant Goswami will be asked to pack his bags.

There's not much drama in the Bigg Boss house with Dolly having been shown the door. However, it's Friday, the day of eviction, and five people – Sameer Soni, Shweta Tiwari, Ashmit Patel, Veena Malik and Hrishant Goswami – have been nominated to go from the house.

We hear it's Hrishant Goswami who is going to be asked to pack his bags tonight. One less person means that much less drama. But on Saturday, the entry of Dolly Bindra is going to spice up the Bigg Boss house all over again.

Our source said, "Dolly Bindra was the lifeline of the show. Ever since she came on the show as the wild card entry, she made life miserable for the contestants, especially Shweta Tiwari.

Let's wait and watch for the drama to unfold as Hrishant leaves and Dolly enters.

DIWALI PUJA

Diwali is a festival of celebrating the blessings bestowed on us by Goddess Lakshmi and Diwali Puja is a way of commemorating the Goddess. Well Diwali is also celebrated for many other mythological reasons like the coming of Lord Ram to Ayodhya along with Sita and Lakshman. Whatever may be the reason for celebrating Diwali but the Diwali Puja is regarded to be a perfect way of thanking the Gods especially Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha for all the peace, prosperity and blessings showered by them on us and the mention of the Diwali puja can be found in the history of Diwali also.

The general things required for Diwali Puja are uncooked rice, paan leaves, kumkum, sweets, camphor, dry fruits and idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. The Puja is performed in the evening when hundreds of diyas are lighted to illuminate the evening. The diwali puja is then followed by presenting each other with ideal Diwali gifts, offering delicious Diwali sweets to the guests, presenting beautiful Diwali cards to the loved ones and greeting each other with nicest Diwali greetings. The process of Diwali Puja is further divided into different pujas in the honor of different Gods like Ganesh Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Kali Puja and Diwali Aarti.

Recognizing the importance of Diwali Puja amidst the celebrations of Diwali we have come up with a proper section of Diwali Puja under which we have discussed and have given information regarding the different pujas to be performed at the time of Diwali.

FAMOUS STORIES BEHIND DIWALI

India encompasses in it's lap diverse cultures and therefore is imbued in the aura of festivities round the year. Most of the Indian festivals find their origin in Hindu Mythology. Diwali is one such widely loved festival. The popular story related to Diwali is the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. But, that is not all. There are many mythical stories that enriches the significance of Diwali.

There are a number of myths surrounding the festival. For instance, the stories of the killing of Ravana and Narakasura, the emergence of Goddess Lakshmi etc. are the stories that accentuates the glory of Lord Rama and reinforce his position of "Purushottam", that is, the Man of Honor.

The festival of Diwali is the auspicious day when people enjoy sweets, new clothes and fireworks. Offering Puja to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi is the highlight of the day. People get their houses white washed and decorate them way before the festive day. Loved ones exchange gifts among each other. All these activities hold deep importance in the mythical stories.

The very essence of Diwali celebrations lie in these stories. In an attempt to honor the great Lord Rama, we have come up with some amazing tales, which have been passed on from generation to generation and are preserved as India's ancient heritage.

STORY OF DIWALI

The preparations, the rituals, the entire celebration focuses on the home and family, spanning out to cover the community as a natural extension. Diwali is a festival synonymous with celebrations in India and among Indians all over the world, is an occasion for jubilation and togetherness. Like other festivals the festival of lights also has its origin in mythology. By reading the mythological tales you get to know the real story of Diwali.

The most famous legend associated with the story of Diwali is the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya. Lord Ram was sent to exile by his stepmother for 14 years in the jungle. His wife Sita and younger brother Lakshman also accompanied him there. In the jungle Ravan kidnapped sita and Lord Ram had to take the help of God Hanuman and monkey king Sugvir to kill Ravan. After killing Ravan and completing his period of exile, Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya and to celebrate his comeback the citizens of Ayodhya decorated their houses, exchanged sweets and ignited firecrackers. Since that day Diwali came to be celebrated in order to commemorate the coming back of Lord Ram.

According to another legend associated with the Story of Diwali, on this particular Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity incarnated. She incarnated due to the churning of the ocean, which came to be known as the incident of 'Samundra Manthan', by the demons as well as the deities.

Another famous Diwali story talks about the killing of demon Narkasura by Satyabhama with the support of Lord Krishna. Narkasura once defeated Lord Indra, the king of heaven and also snatched away the earrings of Mother goddess Aditi, who was a relative of Satyabhama. On hearing this news Satyabhama got very furious and asked for Lord Krishna's help for killing the demon who readily agreed.

No matter what the legend but the festival of lights is celebrated with much enthusiasm and zeal in all over the country by people of all religions.

Lalbaugcha Raja

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important and widely celebrated festivals throughout India. However, it is in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai that the 12 days festival has its own aura and grandeur. With the passing years the Ganeshotsav has acquired a kind of religious, social and cultural movement. Among all the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsavs, the Lalbaug Ganeshotsav in Central Mumbai has acquired a unique place in the heart and minds of the people of Mumbai.

Lalbaug Ganeshotsav is one of the most popular Ganesh Pandals in Mumbai. The 14 feet tall Ganesh idol erected here has been popularly known as ‘Lalbaugcha Raja’. The huge Ganesh idol owes its popularity to its reputed ability to gratify the wishes of its devotees. It is visited by millions of people during the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The main attraction here is a golden crown of two kg, golden bracelets and other gold ornaments.

There is a curious background regarding the origin of the ‘Lalbaugcha Raja’ Ganeshotsav. The organisation, formerly known as ’Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Lalbaug’ was founded in the year 1928, because of a vow (Navas) for construction of the present Lalbaug Market at its existing place. The market place at Peru Chawl was shut down in 1932. Hence, the fishermen and vendors who used to sit in the open place vowed to Shri Ganesh for a permanent place for their market. Due to the efforts of the local Councillor-Late Kuwarji Jethabhai Shah and other community leaders and local residents, the landlord-Rajabai Tayyabali agreed to give a plot for construction of a market. As fulfilment of their wish, the fishermen and the traders established the Ganesh Idol on 12th September 1934 for the first time. The first Ganesh idol was dressed in the customary fashion of a fisherman. Since that day, this Lord Ganesh has become popular as it is believed that he fulfils the wishes of devotees.

Every succeeding year the popularity of ‘Lalbaugcha Raja’ went on increasing. The idol of Lalbaugcha Raja has been represented in various forms reflecting the times since its inception in 1934. In 1946, the Ganesh idol was dressed as Netaji Subhashchandra Bose. In 1947, Shri Ganesh was presented in the garb of Jawaharlal Nehru riding a bullock cart and in 1948 he was made to look like Gandhiji . But after that the surrounding exhibits started getting importance and the idol rose in height.

After independence in 1947, the agenda of the Mandal was modified. With ever increasing number of devotees making offerings in the form of cash, the collection went on increasing and the Mandal decided to contribute its surplus fund for social causes. The Mandal made donations to the Kasturba Fund, the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Fund in 1947 and to Bihar Flood Relief Fund in 1959. It is the first Mandal to contribute one lakh rupees to the ’Army Central Welfare Fund’, in 1999 for the families of the soldiers who scarified their lives to uphold the dignity of the Nation at Kargil. The Mandal has been donating huge amounts of money for national and social causes, deserving institutions and even individuals for medical expenses, education, etc.

During the ten days of the Ganeshotsav, millions of devotees from all over Mumbai and even from remote places in Maharashtra come to Lalbaugcha Raja for fulfilling their vows or seeking favours. People wait in the queue to seek Lalbaugcha Raja’s blessing for hours together. Reportedly, over five to six lakhs of devotees visit for the ‘darshan’ everyday during the Ganeshotsav, usually forming a queue which goes up to eight kilometres in length.

However, from this year the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Mandal has hired two grounds adjacent to the pandal, where over 25,000 devotees can be accommodated. The grounds have seating arrangement so that the devotees don’t have to stand in a line. This arrangement is a relief to not just the devotees, but also the residents of the area. On an average, during the 10-day Ganpati festival, over 15 lakh devotees turn up at Lalbaug daily. Of these, over 60 per cent are ‘navas’ (those who have taken a vow) devotees.

In view of the terrorist threat the security arrangement around the Lalbaugcha Raja has also been tightened up with the help of 1500 Mumbai policemen and 5000 private guards of the Mandal.

Introduction Of Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar with his clean cut good looks and a history in martial arts has smoothly made a transition from action hero to a romantic hero and then into comedy, keeping movie buffs glued to their seats as they wait for what this Khiladi has to offer next.

Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia
Akshay Kumar was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on the 9 September 1967 in Amritsar to a middle class Punjabi household. His father was a government worker. He grew up in Delhi and later in Mumbai’s Koliwada area. He did his schooling at the Don Bosco School and his college years were spent in Khalsa College, where he showed an inclination for sports.

He studied martial arts in Bangkok while working as a chef. He came back to Delhi to teach martial arts when one of his students suggested he try his hand at modeling, which led to an offer to act in Deedar as the lead actor.

Akshay was linked with several of his co-stars like Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty, Pooja Batra and even Rekha. He is currently married to actress turned entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna and they have a son Araav.

Akshay: Unbuttoned
Akshay Kumar was accused of obscene conduct when he asked his wife to unbutton his Levis while walking the ramp in 2009.

And…..Action!
Akshay Kumar didn’t grab any headlines with his debut Saugandh in 1991. Deedar, Dancer, and Khiladi were released in 1992, with Khiladi being one of the biggest hits of the year. In 1993, he came out with atleast six movies all of which fell flat. But he more than made up for it in 1994 with hits like Mohra with Raveena Tandon, Yeh Dillagi with Kajol and Saif Ali Khan, and Mein Khiladi Tu Anari with Saif Ali Khan and Shilpa Shetty. He received a nomination for the Filmfare Best Actor award for his romantic role in Yeh Dillagi.

The Khiladi tag seemed to be a lucky charm of sorts and he proved it with the 1995 hit Sabse Bada Khiladi and then again in 1996 with Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. But the 1997 film Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi failed on that note. The same year, his extended supporting role in Dil To Pagal Hai won him the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor nomination. The next two years saw most of his films failing at the box office except for Sangharsh with Preity Zinta and Jaanwar.

He tried his hand in the comedy stream quite successfully in 2000 with Hera Pheri, which was a laugh riot. Dhadkan with pal Suneil Shetty and Shilpa Shetty also was a good performer at the box office. His role as Vikram Bajaj in the 2001 release Ajnabee won him the Filmfare Best Villain Award.

The years 2003 to 2006 saw him in Awaara Paagal Deewana, Andaaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karoge (nominated for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor and Filmfare Best Comedian award), Garam Masala, and the sequel Phir Hera Pheri. Garam Masala fetched him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role.

He proved himself yet again in 2007 with almost all of his films ending up as hits like Namastey London, Bhool Bhulaiya, and Welcome. Though the much hyped Tashan failed to do well in 2008, Singh is Kinng did exceptionally well in India and overseas.

He also kickstarted the adventure based TV reality show, Khatron Ka Khiladi.

In 2009, Akshay did not have much success with his releases as they did not match the hype. He was seen in Chandni Chowk to China with Deepika Padukone as a loser who morphs into a winner. While his fans stood by him, the critics slammed it. Nagesh Kukunoor’s 8x10 Tasveer didn’t evoke a good response. Kambakkht Ishq also fell flat. Blue was appreciated for its visuals. De Dana Dan, a comedy, with his pals from Hera Pheri did a decent job at the box office.

He is currently working on five movies-Housefull, Helloo India, Action Replay with Aishwarya Rai, Khatta Meeta, and Patiala House.

Introduction Of Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan
Saif Ali Khan is royalty, living life king size. He’s the brat we eyed with indulgence as he played actor-actor until he did a complete turnaround post Dil Chahta Hai and there’s no looking back as he juggles his revived career and lady love Kareena.

The Little Prince
Saif Ali Khan was born on 16 August 1970 in New Delhi, India. His father is Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the Nawab of Pataudi and a former captain of the Indian cricket team. His mother is Sharmila Tagore, a Bengali actress in Bollywood who converted to Islam on getting married. She currently heads the Indian censorship board. He has two sisters, Saba and Soha who is also an actress.
His familial connections are distinguished to say the least. Saif’s paternal grandfather was Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi who besides being the Nawab of Pataudi, was a cricket player, playing for England and India. His paternal grandmother was Sajida Sultan, the Begum of Bhopal. His great uncle was an Indian General Nawabzada Sher Ali Khan Pataudi. His mother is related to Rabindranath Tagore, a poet and Nobel laureate.

Saif Ali Khan studied at the Lawrence School, Sanawar and the Locker’s Park Prep School. His college years were spent in his father’s alma mater, Winchester College, UK.

He married the much older Bollywood actress Amrita Singh in 1991 raising eyebrows. They had a daughter Sara and a son, Ibrahim. They divorced in 2004. He was dating Rosa Catalano but that didn’t last long. While the media speculated on his new love interest, he walked the ramp with actress Kareena Kapoor at the Manish Malhotra fashion show during the Lakme India Fashion Week, officially confirming that the two were dating and it could definitely lead to more.

A Late Bloomer
1992 to 1998 Saif Ali Khan made his debut with the 1992 Yash Chopra directed Parampara opting out of the Kajol starrer Bekhudi. In 1993, he won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for Aashiq Awaara. Yeh Dillagi and Main Khiladi Tu Anari in 1994 were among the year’s biggest hits. The movies that he acted in over the next three years – Tu Chor Mein Sipahi, Keemat, Udaan, and Hamesha - didn’t really boost his reputation as a solid actor.

1999 to 2003 He played Dhananjay Pandit in Kacche Daage that was appreciated. He was seen as a photographer in the comedy, Biwi No.1. In 2000, he was in Kya Kehna with Preity Zinta in the role of her lover who abandons her when she gets pregnant. The family oriented Hum Saath Saath Hai brought trouble off screen when he was accused, along with some of the other members from the movie, to have hunted down Chinkaras that are an endangered species but was later acquitted.

He changed tracks in 2001 as he appeared in the comedy Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega and then as Samir, who wears his heart on his sleeve, in Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai that changed the way people perceived him. It won him the Filmfare Best Comedian Award. Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, the remake of the Tamil movie Minale, also did well.

2003 to 2008 He won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for Kal Ho Na Ho in 2003 as well as the “Moto Look of the Year”. The year also saw him in Darna Mana Hai and LoC Kargil. In the 2004 movie Ek Hasina Thi he was the cold Karan Singh Rathod, while his role in the light hearted Hum Tum with Rani Mukherji was in complete contrast and won him his second Filmfare Best Comedian Award as well as the National Film Award for Best Actor.

Each of his four releases in 2005 and 2006 – Parineeta, Salaam Namaste, Being Cyrus, and Omkara - had him stretching his range as an actor. Parineeta received critical acclaim; Salaam Namaste was a romantic comedy around the new age relationship dilemmas; Being Cyrus was a critically acclaimed English language movie; Vishal Bharadwaj’s Omkara was an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello and Saif’s performance as Langda Tyagi was phenomenal. He won his first Filmfare Best Villain Award.

Compared to this success, his 2007 and 2008 releases didn’t overwhelm anyone. Race was a hit while Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and Tashan with girlfriend Kareena failed. He also lent his voice to the animated movie, Roadside Romeo.

2009 to 2010
Saif produced and starred in Love Aaj Kal with Deepika Padukone. In Kurbaan, with Kareena Kapoor, he played a terrorist. It was their first hit together as a couple.

Khan’s upcoming movies include Agent Vinod, Race 2, and Karachi Express.

Introduction Of Emran Hashmi

Emran Hashmi

Profile
Date of Birth: 24th March, 1979.
Nickname: Serial Kisser, Farhaan.
Height: 5'9"
Education: Graduate (Sydenhum College).
Debut Film: "Footpath"
Film Awards: None

Emraan Hashmi’s six years in Bollywood have earned him the title of a serial kisser owing to a surplus of scorching, lingering, fleeting kisses that his roles have demanded of him, ensuring he is always in demand. There is more to him than that, of course.

Backtracking
Emraan Anwar Hashmi was born on 23 March 1979 to Anwar, a Muslim and Maherahh, a Catholic. Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt is his uncle and actress turned director Pooja Bhatt is his cousin. He is also related to singer Atif Aslam.

He graduated from Sydenham College in Mumbai.

Emraan married his sweetheart Parveen Shahani on 14 December 2006.

On a Kissing Spree
Emraan made his debut in Bollywood with Footpath in 2003 but the film didn’t do well. The following year he acted in Anurag Basu’s Murder, a thriller, with Mallika Sherawat. The film became a hit and drew the audience’s eyes on him. The three films released in 2005-Zeher, Aashiq Banaaya Aapne, and Kalyug-got lucky at the box office, while the soundtracks of all his films became popular by their own right. Zeher was based on Hollywood’s Out of Time, while Aashiq Banaaya Aapne was about love and friendship. Kalyug was on the darker side of the spectrum looking at the pornography industry.

In 2006, he had several films hitting the theaters like Jawaani Deewani, Akshar, and The Killer. Gangster did well and was rumoured to be based on the relationship between Monica Bedi and Abu Salem.

The 2007 releases Good Boy Bad Boy, The Train, and Awaarapan didn’t fare well. In 2008, he played Arjun involved in a healthy dose of love and crime in Jannat.

He was the perfect Prithvi, a painter, in the horror flick Raaz – The Mystery Continues (2009). Tum Mile (2009) with Soha Ali Khan received good reviews. It was about the ex-lovers reuniting during the infamous Mumbai floods of 2005.

As yet another of bollywood's eligible bachelors tied the knot to his beloved.
Emraan Hashmi, the hottest hunk in Bollywood tasted marital bliss, he married Parveen Shahani this December. The nearly four-and-a-half year old relation with his Sindhi girlfriend Parveen culminated in a marriage. Parveen who teaches small children has never been uptight with Emraan's on-screen flirtatious image and smooching.

Bollywood's very own "smooch king" proscribes the serial kissing tag in movies, though he would continue with the roles and kissing scenes. The love relation has brought forth considerable changes and made him realize that he is no longer a player boy. Contrary to his filmy plots revolving around multiple relations and affairs, Emraan reckons that he can spend his whole life with Parveen, the love of his life. Emraan Hashmi of Murder and Aashiq Banaya Aapne fame is to play the ideal role, a true family man to perfection in his real life.

Emraan is now back from his honeymoon. According to him no radical changes have been taken place in his life after marriage, except… “You wake up with someone else in the bed. That's when it dawns on you that the status of the relationship has changed also the fights about dirty towels lying around, etc. But seriously, the relationship is more defined now. We've taken our bonding to the next level,” said Emraan

Has Parveen forbidden Emraan from kissing his heroines? “No! She never said that. Parveen is the last one to interfere in my career. However, no girlfriend or wife is going to jump with joy if she sees her man kissing another woman,” said Emraan. However Emraan will not totally stop kissing on screen. If scripts demand he will do it again. “But I'm not going to do it just for the heck of it any longer,” he quipped.

In all the roles Emraan has played so far, there is an amount of kinkiness in characters. Emraan claims that people expect that when they come to see his movies.

How does she deal with his smooch king rep? “We have had conversations about it. She does have normal insecurities, but is very strong. She knows the rumors associated with me are a part and parcel of being famous. She has learnt to bear with it.”

“I believe sex is a very important part of one's life but it shouldn't be the be all and end all of one's life because then it becomes a sickness. But sex as a component of healthy living is very important for me, be it in a form of live-in relation or a love-relation. Besides this, I would like
to have some intimacy with a girl before I go to bed with her. I can't enjoy sex with someone who I am not familiar with. The emotional bonding with a girl gives more physical pleasure than being with a stranger”. We gel because of our differences.

Parveen is very patient, completely non-filmi, mellow, homely and traditional — everything I wanted in my life partner. She has brought stability in my Casanova life. “Her being non-filmi is a big plus; I don’t want to return to industry talk when I go back home and I can trust her totally, which may not have been the case if I had an actress in my life. So how does his family react to his kissing on screen?

"My dad and my grandmother don't like me kissing on screen.”I know I hurt the sentiments of people their age. But my dad and my grandmother aren't the audience today. They won't buy a ticket to watch my film. I know I get flak, but for me, everything starts and ends with the box office. Today, whatever I do on screen, I connect with the people of my generation, and they have no qualms about it. Today, we don't show two birds necking or two flowers bending to depict a sexual scene."

So when was his first kiss in reality? "In the ninth standard,” recounts Emraan. "Our teeth clanked, and we were struggling. It was so embarrassing,"he smiles, adding, "After having kissed so many times, I am still struggling to kiss properly."

The actor is also certain that marriage is not going to affect his dude image. "Going by past references, in Bollywood (Aamir, Shah Rukh Khan) and Hollywood, I don't think marriage, comes in the way of stardom. It's the persona, the aura and the talent that talks."

Trouble
He had his bad moments after stepping into the spotlight. His father was shot by the underworld when he refused to give the foreign rights of Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. It was followed by rumours that the actor had made remarks against Nepalese which resulted in outrage against the actor in Nepal. However the actor denied it.

2000 Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, a love story directed by his father, in which he starred opposite newcomer Amisha Patel was an exceptional success, winning eight Filmfare awards among countless others, two of which landed with Hrithik for Best Debut and Best Actor. Film critic Taran Adarsh from indiaFM wrote, "
Shahid Kapur is an actor to watch. He has all the qualities to hit the top slot. Not only is he good looking, but he is an amazing performer, as well. Very original as a performer, the youngster has handled the dramatic and emotional moments with flourish. He is an exceptional dancer as well. All he needs to do is pick and choose his forthcoming assignments with care, so that the journey to the top slot is minus hiccups."
The following year, Kapoor joined once again with director Ken Ghosh in the thriller Fida, where he co-starred alongside Kareena Kapoor and Fardeen Khan. The film failed to do well at the box office, yet Kapoor's performance was praised. The Tribune concluded, "...Shahid Kapoor shines in his role. He looks fresh. His performance opened to mixed reviews; Rediff.com wrote that "Shahid tends to imitate Shahrukh Khan a lot. He does it well in some scenes, overdoes it in others..."

Introduction Of Salman Khan

Salman Khan

Salman Khan, one of the hottest stars of Bollywood today, has been charming his fans since 1989. He debuted in the Hindi film industry, as a leading star, with the movie ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. The film was a major hit and since its release, Salman has been climbing the ladder of success. Today, he is counted amongst the top stars of Bollywood, comparable to the likes of Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan . In the course of his career till date, he has been a part of the highest earning films of five distinct years.

Childhood and Early Life
Salman Khan was born as ‘Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan’ on 27th December 1965, in Indore, Salman KhanMadhya Pradesh. He is the son of Salim Khan, a scriptwriter who gave hit films like Sholay and Don, and his first wife, Salma Khan. He was one of the five children of his parents, the other being two sons, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, and two daughters, Alvira and Arpita. In the late-1980s, Salman Khan started visiting producers and auditioning for roles. He debuted in the film industry, in a supporting role, in 1988, with the movie ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’.

Career
Salman Khan’s debut as a leading actor came with Sooraj R. Barjatya's ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, which was released in 1989. The movie went on to become one of the most successful films of that time and also got him Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, apart from a nomination for Filmfare Best Actor Award. In 1990, he was seen in ‘Baaghi’, with South Indian actress Nagma, which turned out to be another major hit. The following year, Salman Khan starred in a number of films, including ‘Patthar Ke Phool’, ‘Sanam Bewafa’ and ‘Saajan’.

The movie ‘Saajan’ established him as an actor who could perform some serious roles too and helped him move away from the ‘romantic guy’ image. However, the initial success could not guarantee future hits and almost all his 1992-1993 releases turned out to be flops. It was in 1994 that Salman Khan became the king of box office once again, when Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ hit the theaters. The movie turned out to be one of the highest grossers of all times and also won him his second nomination for Filmfare Best Actor Award.
Salman Khan Wallpaper
The same year, Salman Khan was seen in ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, ‘Sangdil Sanam’ and ‘Chaand Kaa Tukdaa’. None of them were box-office hits, but the first one did establish his talent in the field of comedy. In 1995 came Rakesh Roshan's ‘Karan Arjun’, in which he co-starred with Shahrukh Khan. The film went on to become the second biggest hit of the year and Salman Khan bagged a nomination for Filmfare Best Actor Award. With the arrival of 1996 came Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’ and Raj Kanwar's ‘Jeet’.

While the first movie received tremendous critically acclaim, the second one made excellent business at the box office. ‘Judwaa’ and ‘Auzaar’ were Salman Khan’s releases in the year 1997, with the former being quite a success. In 1998, he starred in the comedy ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’, which was one of the biggest commercial successes of that year. The same year, he was also seen in the moderately successful ‘Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai’. Then came Karan Johar's directorial debut, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.

In ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, Salman Khan played a supporting role and ended up receiving his second Filmfare Award, this time under the Best Supporting Actor category. The year 1999 saw him in films like ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’, ‘Biwi No.1’ and ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. While the first was moderately successful, the other two went on to become major box-office hits. With ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, he got another Best Actor nomination at Filmfare. Salman Khan was seen in around six films in the year 2000.

Of these, two - ‘Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega’ and ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ did average business, while the rest were failures. ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’, his much-delayed film with Madhuri and Shahrukh, was released in 2002, but barely managed to earn its worth. Success continued to evade Salman Khan till 2003, when ‘Tere Naam’ was released. Not only was the movie a major hit, but it also earned him great comments from the critics. The same year, he was seen in ‘Baghban’, which got him nomination for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) and No Entry (2005) were his other hit films. The year 2006 was rather unlucky for Salman Khan, as his films failed to do well at the box office. Even his first 2007 release ‘Salaam E Ishq’ did not manage to charm the audience. However, with the success of ‘Partner’ (2007), he again came back in the top league. His first Hollywood movie, Marigold: An Adventure in India’, was a commercial as well as critical failure. In 2008, Salman Khan entered the small screen, with the game show, ‘Dus Ka Dum’.

Personal Life
Since the past many years, Salman Khan has been known for his amazing body. He is one of the first actors who realized the importance of bodybuilding and having six-pack abs. In 2004, People magazine of U.S. voted him as the 7th best-looking man in the World and the best looking man in India. He has had relationships with a number of females in the past, which include Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali and Aishwarya Rai. Touted to be the ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ of Bollywood, he has been dating model-turned-actress Katrina Kaif since 2003.

Despite his tough guy and angry young man image, Salman Khan has always been the favorite of the audience. Behind his tough stance is a sensitive heart that constantly indulges in charities and loves to bring a smile on people’s face. In October 2007, he accepted an offer to have his wax replica in Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London. The life-size wax statue was installed there in January 2008. Salman Khan is the step-son of the yesteryears diva Helen and has Malaika Arora Khan as his sister-in-law (Arbaaz’s wife) and Atul Agnihotri as his brother-in-law (Alvira’s husband).

Controversies
Throughout his career, Salman Khan has been involved in several controversies. In September 2002, he was arrested for rash and negligent driving. This was when his car rammed into a Mumbai bakery, killing one person and injuring three. Though the charge of culpable homicide was later dropped, he is still in trial for lesser charges related to the accident. In 2006, he was convicted for hunting the endangered ‘Chinkara’, during the shoot of film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’. Later, he was granted bail by the police.
